About the role

This is an opportunity to join CALHN Pharmacy in a Partnered Pharmacist Medication Prescribing (PPMP) role. You will be working with an established team of PPMP pharmacists in the RAH Emergency Department supported by a clinical assistant to provide clinical pharmacy services to the ED and PPMP for General Medicine admissions. This is a seven-day, extended hours (8:45am to 9pm) service rostered across three shift per day that supports patient and medication safety through extended scope of practice, patient-centred care and interdisciplinary collaboration. You will have completed PPMP credentialing or must be eligible for credentialing and will be supported to do this as part of the role if successful. You will apply critical thinking to the clinical decision making process and have a high level of attention to detail to independently chart safely with a commitment to your own professional development and learning. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist to lead the organisation, management, and operation of a designated pharmacy area. In this role, you will provide a comprehensive and high-level range of pharmacy services, exercising independent and autonomous judgement to deliver expert medicines information and therapeutic advice to patients, medical and nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals. You will play a key role in ensuring pharmacy services align with hospital and divisional policies, professional standards, and best-practice guidelines.

With a strong focus on optimising patient outcomes, you will implement strategies that promote the quality use of pharmaceuticals in a safe and cost-effective manner. Your ability to lead, collaborate, and provide expert clinical guidance will contribute to improved patient care and streamlined pharmacy operations. This role is ideal for a pharmacist with strong leadership skills, a commitment to service excellence, and a passion for driving innovation in medication management. Flexible work arrangements may be available to support work-life balance.

About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist to lead and enhance pharmacy services within a hospital setting. You will bring strong leadership capabilities, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to ensuring the safe and effective use of pharmaceuticals in a dynamic healthcare environment.

  • Leadership & service improvement – Proven ability to lead teams, implement strategic service improvements, and oversee pharmacy operations to optimise patient care.
  • Strong communication & problem-solving skills – Ability to liaise effectively with a broad range of stakeholders, solve complex issues, and provide expert clinical guidance.
  • Extensive hospital pharmacy experience – Deep knowledge of pharmacy practice, regulations, and standards, with hands-on experience in medication management and service delivery.
  • Commitment to education & teamwork – Experience in supervising, mentoring, and training professional and non-professional staff while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

If you are passionate about pharmacy leadership, service innovation, and patient-centred care, we encourage you to apply!
