Join our Anaesthesia Team as an Anaesthesia Trainee! 

The provisional fellow will be allocated to one of the specific provisional fellow positions for 6 months at a time: Cardiac anaesthesia, Vascular anaesthesia, Simulation and Education, Neuro-anaesthesia, Regional anaesthesia, Obstetric anaesthesia, Hepatobiliary anaesthesia and Liver Transplant, Research fellow in anaesthesia or a general anaesthesia fellowship position. 

About the role: 

As the Anaesthesia Medical Practitioner, your duties can include: 

  • Professional clinical services to both inpatients/outpatients,
  • Participate in after-hours rosters, on-call and provide anaesthesia and related services during this period,
  • Contributing to the development of an integrated team approach and culture which is highly responsive to the needs of our consumers,
  • Gain the necessary skills and knowledge to provide safe anaesthesia in all areas of anaesthesia to fulfil the training requirements of ANZCA.

About you:

  • Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent
  • Registrable with the Medical Board Australia as a Medical Practitioner with General Registration
  • Prospective provisional fellows must have satisfied college criteria (ANZCA) for appointment as a Provisional Fellow, as at the commencement of the Provisional Fellowship position.
  • Given that applicants will often be sitting examinations after positions are offered, we assume that any pending exams will be successfully completed when considering offers of positions.

    - Explaining what you hope to get out of the rotation and how it will complement your pre-existing training and future consultant practice
    - Outline what strengths / interests you may bring into the department.
    - Listed order of preference for the 9 PFP positions (listed 1 through 9) – this is essential for offering specific positions to specific applicants
    - Availability – for which 6-month semesters are you applying (1st, 2nd or both)
