Statewide – SA Pathology 

• Salary: $365,798 - $713,692 p.a pro rata Total Indicative Remuneration Salary (subject to private practice agreement)
• North Adelaide SA, 5006
• Part Time, Contracted Role working 11.25 hours per week up to 12 months 

About the role

This is a 0.3 FTE consultant position in the Department of Anatomical Pathology at the Adelaide Women’s and Children’s Hospital.  The Department specialises in the areas of paediatric, obstetric and gynaecological pathology in addition to providing the State Perinatal Autopsy Service.  The successful applicant will contribute as a member of the Consultant team in providing a high quality and efficient diagnostic service including assessment of surgical specimens, some cytology specimens and in the provision of high quality and timely perinatal and paediatric autopsy reports.  The successful applicant will contribute to the on-call service.  Consultants also participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, anatomical pathology registrar training and quality assurance activities.    

About You

We’re looking for a highly skilled Anatomical Pathologist with a passion for paediatric, perinatal, obstetric, and gynaecological pathology. You will be detail-oriented, collaborative, and committed to delivering high-quality diagnostic services in a fast-paced clinical environment.

• Expertise in Anatomical Pathology – Strong knowledge and experience in surgical pathology, autopsy pathology, and cytology, with a willingness to further develop expertise in specialised areas.
• Effective Collaboration & Communication – Proven ability to work efficiently with clinical teams, pathologists, laboratory staff, and administrative personnel, maintaining high-level written and verbal communication skills.
• Commitment to High Standards – Ability to work under pressure, meet turnaround times for reports, and actively engage in continuing medical education and quality assurance.
• Technical Knowledge & Adaptability – Familiarity with computerised reporting systems, the latest pathology trends, and occupational health and safety requirements.

Expertise in a subspecialty within paediatric, perinatal, obstetric, or gynaecologic pathology is highly desirable.
