About the Role

As the Nursing Lead, you will provide strategic leadership, operational oversight and clinical governance within the Network Operations and Performance. The nurse lead role is key to ensuring the delivery of high-quality clinical care across CALHN. This role is pivotal in coordinating nursing services and maintaining high standards in clinical care, systems, and processes. Working closely with the Director of Network Operations and Performance, you will contribute to key performance indicators and the achievement of operational goals, ensuring smooth, coordinated, and therapeutic patient journeys across the service.

In addition to overseeing patient flow and demand management, you will lead key functions such as senior after-hours nursing model, and the central staffing centralised nursing workforce. As a member of the leadership team, you will collaborate with nursing, interdisciplinary, and support service colleagues, ensuring the efficient deployment of resources and the continuous improvement of clinical services. About You

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Registered Nurse/Midwife to take on a leadership role within our healthcare team. This position requires an individual with a strong background in managing services and leading teams through change, with a focus on improving patient care and operational efficiency.

Key Requirements:

  • Qualifications & Experience: AHPRA registration with 5+ years of post-registration experience in nursing, including leadership in a complex healthcare setting.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and negotiation abilities, with experience managing staff and resources.
  • Healthcare Expertise: Proven ability in managing patient flow, demand, and leading quality improvement initiatives within a hospital environment.
  • Knowledge & Flexibility: Sound knowledge of service improvement models, clinical governance, and healthcare legislation, with a creative and flexible approach to service delivery.
