Compassionate Mental Health Nursing - Part-Time Opportunity with SA Health

Mental Health Hospital in the Home Service (HITH) is an alternative option to hospital admission for the person experiencing an acute episode of mental illness.  As the Clinical Nurse you will work collaboratively and undertake clinical care coordination as part of the multi-disciplinary team within the Hospital in the Home Service.

About the role: 

Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager duties for the role will include:

Conduct thorough assessments Utilise your expertise to perform mental health and psychosocial assessments, risk assessments and develop personalised treatment plans.

Deliver comprehensive clinical care Develop therapeutic relationships which facilitate collaborative working relationships with the person, carers and community stakeholders to ensure high quality care with improved mental and physical health outcomes.

Interpersonal and communication skills: Successfully problem solve, resolve conflicts and negotiate, including the ability to engage in difficult conversations, whilst building and maintaining relationships. 

Support leadership: Collaborate with the Nurse Unit Manager to contribute to a cohesive and efficient team environment.

Contribute to quality improvement: Engage in clinical auditing, research, and evaluation initiatives to continuously improve patient care outcomes and service delivery.

About you:

  • Registered as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, holding a current practicing certificate, with at least 3 years, full time equivalent, post registration experience.
  • Must be enrolled in an approved mental health course or hold a qualification in mental health practice.
  • You have demonstrated clinical expertise and experience in mental health services.
  • You have strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills; and
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and evidence-based practice.

To be considered for the RN2C (Clinical Nurse) level you must have at least three years, full time equivalent, post registration experience with experience in the leadership and direction of student nurses, enrolled nurses, and less experienced registered nurses.
