We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Advanced Trainee Obstetric Medicine to join our Women's and Children's Division!

This role will provide clinical services in obstetric medicine of the highest possible standard to patients of Flinders Medical Centre (FMC) and Noarlunga Health Services (NHS) both in terms of individual performance and by contributing to a multi-disciplinary approach to the delivery of patient care.

About the role: 

As the Advance Trainee Obstetric Medicine, your duties can include:

  • Ensuring that the examination and history cover the presenting complaining and broad enough to uncover other problems that may exist,
  • Consulting with the Consultant where any concern relating to diagnosis or clinical condition exists,
  • Documenting concise relevant and structured entries which include date, time and signature being clearly identified and ensuring the names are printed and signed,
  • Participating in regular informal feedback process with Registrars and Consultants,
  • Coordinating the follow up care of patients.

As per the SMOEA 2022, the total term of employment with SA Health will be 3 years. Rotations following the initial 12 month allocation as Obstetric Medicine will be determined in line with your training and SA Health’s requirements. This may include transfer to other SA Health locations to perform work appropriate to classification, skills and capabilities.

About you:

  • Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent,
  • Registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner,
  • Successfully completed Part 1 of the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) examination,
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people including colleagues and other professional staff.
