About the Role

Join our dynamic team at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (TQEH) as a Nutrition and Dietetic Assistant and play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient meal services. In this engaging role, you’ll be responsible for managing patient menus, coordinating meal orders and modifications, and ensuring dietary requirements are met with accuracy and care. You'll work closely with food services and clinical teams, check in on patients with complex diets, and contribute to audits that help maintain excellence in service delivery. Your keen attention to detail and commitment to patient wellbeing will be instrumental in creating a positive mealtime experience for those in our care.

Beyond meal service, you'll also support the Nutrition and Dietetics team in providing essential allied health services to patients at TQEH. Under the supervision of an allied health professional, you’ll assist in patient care, contribute to training and mentoring trainee staff and work experience students, and help maintain the highest standards of practice in our department. About You

We’re looking for a dedicated and motivated individual with a passion for supporting patient care in a healthcare setting. To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Qualifications & Training – Eligible and willing to undertake Allied Health Assistance Certificate Level 3 training.

  • Skills & Abilities – Strong communication skills, ability to follow instructions, work independently on routine tasks, and adapt to a physically demanding environment.

  • Experience – Previous experience in a service-oriented role, ideally within a healthcare or patient support setting.

  • Knowledge – Understanding of patient confidentiality, ethical practice, and the role of Allied Health Assistants within CALHN.
