Rehabilitation, Aged and Palliative Care Services at the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network (SALHN) provides team-based care for older people, people who are living with a disability, and people with a life-limiting illness. 

About the role: 

Reporting to the Director Physiotherapist, your role will provide Physiotherapy services to inpatients referred from the wards and outpatients referred from clinics. The Physiotherapist is responsible for the assessment and management of patients which results in improved patient care and outcomes under reduced direction from senior staff.

Some of your duties may involve:

  • Provide appropriate, safe and effective Physiotherapy management (assessment and management) of patients referred within the scope of the RAP division.
  • Assist in promotion of professional development by participating in ongoing involvement with quality improvement projects, self-appraisal, performance development, in-service education programmes and research,
  • Contribute to departmental decision making by attendance at meetings and acting as Chairperson, or Minute Secretary as required,
  • Ensure statistical data for the department is maintained by regular data entry and maintenance of hard data.

About you:

  • Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia,
  • Physiotherapy skills in assessment and management of a broad range of conditions,
  • Ability to set priorities and manage one’s time effectively including the ability to supervise physiotherapy students and assistants.

Please note that this position is multi-classed as either a AHP1 or AHP2 and classification will be determined by qualifications and experience. The successful applicants will be appointed in the position appropriate to their skills, qualifications, and experience.
