The Limestone Coast Local Health Network (LCLHN) delivers a range of in-hospital, aged care, community, disability, and mental health services to the Limestone Coast community through a number of public hospitals and other health service sites located at Bordertown, Keith, Kingston, Lucindale, Millicent, Mount Gambier, Naracoorte and Penola.

About the Role: 

As the Research Officer, you will assist in the coordination and oversight of clinical trials and research activities for patients, consumers, and stakeholders of LCLHN. You will contribute to operational practices and provide expertise to students and health professionals undertaking research. Through innovative application, you will facilitate the development, coordination and implementation of research and administrative strategies, to ensure the successful management of clinical trials and research activities.

You will work collaboratively with staff, medical officers, and patients to support the provision of safe, high quality clinical trial and research activities whilst supporting the Local Health Network and its consumers.

The Research Officer will play a pivotal role in providing client-centred care and the success of clinical trial and research activities.

Overview:

Step into an exciting role as the Research Officer, where you will be responsible for creating patient-centred care and partnerships and further, build key relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Reporting directly to the Nurse Consultant – Clinical Research Coordinator and working closely with the Executive Director of Nursing and Midwifery and Executive Director Medical Services, you will ensure successful delivery of all operational and administration services related to clinical trials and research across the LCLHN.  

The Research Officer is responsible for providing administrative and practical assistance in clinical trials and research activities in line with LCLHN values, whilst demonstrating a patient-centred approach in all aspects of your work. You will be at the heart of shaping and supporting a dynamic clinical trial and research services across our Local Health Network.

Responsibilities of your role include analysis and monitoring of data and reports relating to clinical trials and research. Provide support and consultancy services in research ethics and studies and contribute to program development and implementation.

  • Demonstrated experience in data entry, with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
  • Strong knowledge of modern administrative practices and organisational principles.
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and achieve outcomes.
  • Experience building positive relationships with staff, patients, and stakeholders to achieve high-level outcomes.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of research ethics, research governance and data analysis.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
