We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Consultant to join our Mental Health Team. 

The Inner South Mental Health Service provides specialist emergency mental health services, acute inpatient care and ambulatory services for people living in the south of Adelaide.

About the role: 

As the Psychiatrist Consultant you will provide clinical services of the highest possible standard to Mental Health Service Division patients, both in terms of individual performance and by providing clinical leadership and contribution to a multidisciplinary approach to the delivery of patient care.

Duties for the role will include:

  • Providing appropriate specialist level care to patients,
  • Contributing to the supervision of postgraduate students,
  • Contributing to the development of an integrated team approach and culture which is highly responsive to the needs of our consumers,
  • Providing appropriate direction and supervision to registrars, resident medical officers and interns,
  • Working harmoniously with all members of the clinical team.

About you:

  • Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent,
  • Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award,
  • Demonstrated high standard of clinical practice in Psychiatry,
  • Experience with the supervision and teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate medical staff.

This is a term vacancy up to 6 months with the possibility of extension after this term.
