We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Advanced Physiotherapist to join our Allied Health Acute Team. 

About the role: 

Reporting to the Physiotherapy Manager Acute, this role will develop and provide and expert Physiotherapy service to clients and clinical leadership to the outpatient services associated with the Division of Surgery (Neurosurgery, Spinal Assessment Clinic) which results in safe, efficient and appropriate care of patients requiring triage, assessment and treatment in outpatient clinics.

Duties for the role will include:

  • Providing a specialised MSK Physiotherapy (PT) service to patients within Neurosurgery clinics by initiating, formulating and applying to clinical practice the PT management for this area with consultant oversight only
  • Ensuring that high standards of recording are maintained and prepare clinical summaries or legal reports as required
  • Participating in clinics and relevant meetings, and consulting, liaising with and advising other members of the clinical team or community agencies as required, to ensure optimum patient management
  • Providing a consultancy service to other PTs, AH professionals, nursing and medical staff on issues related to MSK PT and management of conditions by provision of accurate assessment, diagnosis and appropriate management plans and intervention for patients in these areas

About you:

  • Ability to manage complex MSK patients with demonstrated highly developed Physiotherapy skills
  • Ability to supervise staff, and plan and deliver training to others
  • Previous clinical experience in MSK physiotherapy in general and acute outpatient health environments
  • A Degree or other qualification which entitles registration as a Physiotherapist with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia
  • Proven experience in delivering high quality and safe care consistent with the National Safety and Quality Health Care Service Standards
