About the role: 

Reporting to the Manager Central Services in this role you will have the unique opportunity to immerse yourself in a dynamic and rewarding environment, working alongside a dedicated team of professionals committed to providing comprehensive support and care to individuals and families affected by alcohol and drug misuse.. Duties for the role will include:

  • Delivery and evaluation of a culturally sensitive, responsive, equitable and comprehensive specialist Alcohol and Other Drug Service aimed at prevention,  intervention and harm minimisation. 
  • Assessing, counselling and referring people with drug related problems, their families and significant others
  • Providing a consultancy service and provision of training to community workers
  • Participating in community health promotion activities and providing information

About you:

  • Appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
  • Demonstrated effective social work clinical practice including empathy and adopting a non-judgemental approach when planning, providing and evaluating assessment, intervention, counselling and case management for individuals, couples, families and significant others.
  • Ability to consult with, assess and identify community, needs, community development and health promotion programs.
