In this pivotal role, you will apply your clinical expertise, generalist and specialist knowledge, and professional competence to plan, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive range of integrated services tailored to the unique needs of consumers, their carers, and families. Working under reduced clinical direction, you will contribute to the clinical supervision of less experienced allied health professionals, allied health assistants, and students, fostering a collaborative and supportive learning environment.

As a valued member of a multidisciplinary team, encompassing health professionals and service providers from various sectors, you will utilise a combination of preventative, early intervention, treatment/therapy, and evaluation approaches. Your skills in effective communication, problem-solving, and teamwork will be instrumental in delivering high-quality care to diverse patient populations.

Qualifications

You must hold a recognised Occupational Therapy qualification and be eligible for registration as an Occupational Therapist in Australia. In addition, you will have the core mental health skills and knowledge essential to offering a quality and safe mental health service to consumers with a severe and enduring mental illness within a multidisciplinary context. You will demonstrate a commitment to applying consumer-centred practice and community engagement principles in the provision of services, ensuring consumers are meaningfully involved in all aspects of their care. Strong interpersonal skills will be essential, along with the ability to communicate effectively with a range of people both verbally and in writing.
