Expressions of interest to join the supportive and professional team as a Quality and Safety Nurse Consultant in the Medicine, Cardiac and Critical Care.

About the Role:

The Nurse Consultant Safety and Quality will manage the day to day quality and safety portfolio for the Division of Medicine, Cardiac and Critical Care in association with the Nursing Director, Co-Director, ED and ICCU Safety & Quality Managers. The Nurse Consultant will manage specific strategic projects that are innovative, critical, complex within the agreed time frames to achieve the desired outcomes. He/she will facilitate the collection and analysis of data and be responsible for completing written reports. 

As the Nurse Consultant, your duties can include: 

  • High level data evaluation and reporting writing
  • Utilising data to guide clinical improvement strategies and strategic planning
  • Communicating and Collaborating with internal team and external stakeholders
  • Proficient in excel and other Microsoft applications

To be successful in this role, you will need: 

  • To be Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold a current practicing certificate
  • Hold a recognised post graduate qualification in Critical Care Nursing or relevant experience
  • At least 3 years, full time equivalent, post registration experience
  • Ability to analyse data and write reports about Safety and Quality issues within the Division of Medicine, Cardiac and Critical Care
  • Sound knowledge of the National Clinical Standards and NSQHS accreditation framework
