Elevate Your Career: 2025 Gastroenterology Registrar Role in Adelaide

As a 2025 Gastroenterology Service Registrar with SALHN, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals in delivering exceptional care to patients with gastrointestinal disorders. This hands-on role will allow you to further develop your skills and knowledge in gastroenterology while making a tangible impact on patient outcomes.

About the role: 

Reporting to the Head, Department of Gastroenterology & Hepatology and Consultant Gastroenterologists, this role will be involved in delivering high quality and safe care consistent with the SALHN Integrated Governance Framework and Consumer Engagement Framework and Plan. Duties for the role will include:

  • Responsible for care of inpatients and outpatients in GE,
  • Participation in an afterhours endoscopy on call roster for emergencies,
  • Coordinating the follow up care of patients, including outpatient appointments
  • Attending and participating in clinical and departmental meetings. It is an expectation that the gastroenterology & hepatology service registrar will attend all unit meetings and contribute to those as requested

About you:

  • MBBS or equivalent, with Full Registration with the Medical Board of South Australia as a medical officer,
  • Successful completion / Written and Clinical RACP examination,
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people including colleagues and other professional staff,
  • Experience in providing clinical services at the level appropriate for a Service Registrar and working towards Advanced Training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
