Join our dynamic team in the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit.  As the Recreation Coordinator you will play a key role in the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit (BIRU).  You will play a pivotal role in delivering tailored recreation services to patients. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you’ll collaborate with patients and their families from diverse cultural backgrounds, designing activities that promote recovery and enhance their ability to live fulfilling lives. Your work will make a meaningful difference, supporting individuals to achieve their goals and reach their full potential.

About You

We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Recreation Coordinator who is passionate about empowering patients through meaningful recreational activities. To excel in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Skills and Abilities: Strong teamwork, independence, advocacy skills, and proficiency in recreational activities such as art, craft, and sport.
  • Experience: Proven experience working with adults with neurological conditions, brain injuries, and within interdisciplinary rehabilitation teams.
  • Knowledge: A sound understanding of rehabilitation principles and adherence to relevant legislation, including the Equal Opportunity Act and Work Health and Safety Act.
  • Attributes: Excellent communication, report-writing skills, and the physical capability to perform a wide range of duties.
