About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Nurse Consultant to join our Behavioural Assessment and Response Team (BART). In this dynamic role, you will provide expert support and leadership in managing complex behaviours across a range of clinical settings within CALHN. You will lead the development of behavioural support plans, provide clinical guidance during high-risk situations such as code blacks, and support staff through post-incident debriefing and recovery. Your expert insight will play a critical role in early risk identification and behaviour management, ensuring safer environments for patients, staff, and visitors.

As a senior clinical leader, you will mentor and guide BART Clinical Nurses and Patient Assistant Officers, contribute to teaching and research initiatives, and drive the success of key projects that enhance service delivery and patient outcomes. You’ll manage your own clinical portfolios, with responsibilities aligned to your career development plan. About You

You are a skilled and compassionate nursing professional with a strong commitment to patient-centred care and behavioural management. To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Current registration (or eligibility) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and at least 3 years post-registration experience

  • Proven ability to manage complex behaviours in inpatient settings and deliver high-quality nursing care

  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills, with a focus on fostering team collaboration and staff development

  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, healthcare standards, and SA Health policies related to challenging behaviours and restrictive practices
