• Base Salary Range: $103,353 - $110,497 p.a (pro rata)

Whyalla Hospital

Whyalla Hospital and Health Services is a large regional hospital comprising of 75 beds including flex beds and a designated High Dependency Unit. The hospital provides a wide range of services, including emergency, medical and surgical, maternity, rehabilitation, mental health, and outpatients. Whyalla Hospital’s Cancer Resource Centre is one of the largest in regional South Australia. It includes six chemotherapy chairs, outpatient care and counselling services, reducing the need to travel outside of the region for care. It is also, one of three stroke services in regional SA, providing specialised treatment for suitable stroke patients 24/7, supported by metropolitan stroke units. Our staff work in close partnership with community health services and Aboriginal health providers, to ensure that optimum care is delivered to all areas of the community. About the Role:

As the Associate Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager – Palliative Care, you’ll deliver high-quality nursing and/or midwifery care across a variety of health settings, drawing on your consolidated experience and advancing from a competent to proficient practitioner. You’ll take ownership of your clinical practice, support the development of junior staff, and ensure excellence in every aspect of patient care.

Working alongside and supporting the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager, you'll play a vital leadership role within the ward/unit/service. Your responsibilities will include:

• Driving continuity and consistency of care in collaboration with the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager and other AN/MUMs.
• Supporting the implementation of evidence-based practice changes, ensuring the highest standards of care delivery.
• Assisting in core management functions, including performance and attendance management, recruitment, rostering, staffing, and financial planning.

About You:

• Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
• Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years post registration experience or currently classified as a Clinical Nurse/Midwife.
• Demonstrated competence and or experience in the relevant area of palliative care nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice.
• Experience in the supervision of student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses.

• This is a part time vacancy, working 48 hours per fortnight and salary will be adjusted according to actual hours worked.
