About the role: 

Reporting to the Team Manager (SEDS),some of your duties for the role will include:

  • Undertaking assessments and planning recovery focussed services for individual clients, their family/supports, including bio-psycho-social assessment and mental state examination, including risk assessment of all clients referred to the service
  • Provide evidenced based treatment specific to the need of adolescents experiencing an eating disorder. This is through individual and family based interventions as directed by the SEDS MDT.
  • Provide clinical leadership to a small group of expert eating disorder clinicians
  • Undertake the nursing/midwifery care role with a significant degree of independent clinical decision making in the area of personal expertise 
  • Undertake the Allied Health (Psychology/Occupational Therapist/Social Work care role with a significant degree of independent clinical decision making in the area of personal expertise
  • Delivering training and supervision to the appropriate members of the wider mental health service
  • Implement and co-ordinate within span of control, processes for quality improvement and continuity within corporate risk management and nursing/midwifery professional practice frameworks

About you:

  • Experience with quality improvement methodologies for clinical activities
  • Advanced skills in undertaking a comprehensive bio-psychosocial assessment, including mental state and risk assessments of clients presenting with high or complex needs
  • Proven experience of delivering evidenced based treatment for those experiencing an eating disorder.
  • At least 3 years post registration experience in mental health, preferably in the field of eating disorder treatment.
  • Registered Nurse and or Midwife with at least 3 years post registration experience OR
  • Registered Psychologist with 3 years post registration experience and Clinical endorsement through PsyBa with approved supervisor status OR
  • Registered Occupational Therapist through Occupational Therapy Board of Australia with 3 years post registration experience OR
  • Social Worker with an appropriate Degree which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers with 3 years post membership experience.
