The Projects & Planning Coordinator is responsible for a range of activities to drive change and raise project management culture in SA Ambulance Service (SAAS), and to establish and maintain the Project Management framework and the Strategic Performance and Reporting Framework. 

This is a broad role which also encompasses the management and implementation of Corporate Planning and Project Management Office (PMO) related projects and improvement initiatives. This role is responsible for providing expert advice and assistance to SAAS staff in the areas of project management practice, methodology and development and by creating the necessary report templates to track projects and PMO change impact.

Key Responsibilities: 

Project Management Methodology Implementation: Manage and coordinate assigned projects adhering to SAAS's Project Management Methodology throughout the entire project lifecycle, delivering positive outputs to realize anticipated business benefits. Monitor the project implementation process and perform post-project reviews. Support and educate SAAS staff in managing projects to enable successful delivery.

Strategic Planning and Analysis: Undertake research, analysis, coordination, and reporting on corporate planning initiatives. Continuously analyse the project management and corporate planning environment, and make recommendations to enhance productivity, efficiency, and quality.

Stakeholder Engagement and Communication: Use various communication mechanisms (workshops, newsletters, meetings) to coordinate information sharing with internal and external stakeholders. Manage and coordinate approved communication strategies for project and corporate planning activities, including preparing presentations, guides, newsletters, articles, and memos.

Policy and Procedure Development: Research, develop, and implement policies, procedures, methodologies, documentation, and supporting tools related to project management and corporate planning in consultation with relevant SAAS business areas and stakeholders.

Reporting and Data Analysis: Define, develop, and maintain reporting tools for corporate planning and project management as directed by the Manager – Strategy, Risk and Governance. Provide reports, statistical data analysis, and recommendations. Conduct internal reviews, monitor KPIs, and report on business plans, contracts, and SLAs.

Committee Support and Governance: Act as the Executive Officer to the Strategy and Program Delivery Committee (SPDC), ensuring the coordination and timeliness of papers, actions, agendas, and minutes.
