Overview:

Provide nursing and/or midwifery services within the Immunisation Section which has been consolidated by experience and/or further study with staff at this level developing from competent to proficient practitioners.

Accepts accountability for their own practice standards, activities delegated to others and the guidance and development of less experienced staff.

Provide support to the Nursing/Midwifery Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager or equivalent in the leadership of nurses/midwives in the service.

Employees in this role will undertake a portfolio within which they will:

  • Promote continuity and consistency of service provision in collaboration with other AN/MUM and the Nurse/Midwife Consultant or equivalent.
  • Assist the Nurse/Midwife Consultant or equivalent in the implementation of service provision; and
  • Assist the Nurse/Midwife Consultant or equivalent in undertaking service management responsibilities, work allocation, immunisation program planning and monitoring.

Criminal History Screening Requirement

  • A National Police Certificate (NPC) for employment involving no contact with vulnerable groups is required for this position (general employment)
  • A DHS ‘Working With Children Check’ (WWCC) is required for this position.

Immunisation Risk for this position is Category C (minimal patient contact)

SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.
