About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Practitioner, Dentist to join SA Dental and play a key role in delivering high-quality dental care across South Australia. In this senior clinical position, you will provide expert treatment to eligible clients presenting with complex oral health issues, contributing to improved dental outcomes within the community. You will also play an instrumental part in implementing statewide clinical programs and ensuring the achievement of key performance targets in your local district.

As a senior member of the team, you will provide clinical leadership, mentoring, and support to less experienced practitioners, particularly in the management of complex cases. You will also contribute to the development of clinical policy and practice guidelines by advising SA Dental leadership, including the Chief Dental Officer. This is a rewarding opportunity to shape dental care delivery across the state while developing the next generation of dental professionals.

About You

You are a qualified and registered dental professional with proven experience delivering complex dental care. You bring leadership, strong clinical judgement, and a commitment to improving service delivery and patient outcomes in a public health setting.

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a dentist with the Dental Board of Australia and holder of a current Radiation Licence with the EPA (SA).

  • Experienced in delivering complex general and emergency dental care, with sound clinical judgement and the ability to lead and support others.

  • Strong communication, leadership, and collaborative skills, with experience mentoring staff, students, and clinical teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to interpret data, apply evidence-based practices, and contribute to continuous service improvement in oral health.
