About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pre-Analytical Operational Services Officer to join our dynamic Pre-Analytical Services team. In this vital frontline role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and customer service through accurate specimen collection, preparation, and data entry. Your work will support the diagnostic process by ensuring specimens are collected, stored, and transported in line with strict clinical standards.

You will contribute to the smooth operation of laboratory workflows by managing patient samples during the pre-analytical stage, entering test information with precision, and responding to internal and external enquiries in a professional and timely manner. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will directly impact timely diagnoses and improved patient outcomes within a collaborative and supportive environment.

About You

You are a reliable and customer-focused professional with strong experience in pathology or hospital settings. You bring excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset to your work, consistently delivering high-quality service in fast-paced environments.

  • Over 2 years of experience in pathology specimen collection or laboratory settings, with a sound understanding of NATA, WHS, and infection control principles.

  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills with a commitment to confidentiality, patient care, and responsive service delivery.

  • Skilled in managing priorities under general direction, maintaining accuracy, and using Laboratory Information Systems and general computer applications.

  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team, adapt to changing workloads, and consistently meet high performance and attendance standards.
