About the role: 

Reporting to the Physiotherapy Manager, this role is responsible for the management and provision of all adult physiotherapy services provided by the Physiotherapy Outpatient Department. Duties for the role will include:

  • Responsible for the management of adult musculoskeletal outpatient Physiotherapy services
  • Organise staff allocated to the Musculoskeletal area, co-ordinate daily workloads, analyse staffing needs and when appropriate liaise with other Senior Physiotherapists,
  • Undertake or oversee the treatment of the more difficult or complex patients referred to the Outpatient Department by drawing on experience specialised knowledge or developing new innovative treatment techniques.
  • Present educational sessions to other health professionals, under-graduates, post-graduates and members of the public at the direction of the Manager of Physiotherapy.

About you:

  • A degree or other qualification which entitles registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia, 
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development in the area of musculoskeletal physiotherapy,
  • Physical strength, flexibility and endurance sufficient for the manual handling requirements of the Physiotherapy Work Unit and out of hours work,
  • Experience as a senior independent musculoskeletal physiotherapist in an acute hospital setting
