As an Allied Health Assistant, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting our healthcare professionals, ensuring exceptional patient care. Your responsibilities will involve assisting with patient transfers, mobility aids, and therapeutic activities, contributing to the overall efficiency of our healthcare operations.

About the role: 

Reporting to the Allied Health Manager, this role includes comprehensive and responsive assessment and care planning in consultation with the older person, their family, carers and current community services involved in their care, allowing for restoration and rehabilitation in addition to the management of medical conditions. Duties for the role will include:

  • Provide specific therapeutic interventions under direction of AHP staff,
  • Accurately maintain documentation under the explicit direction of the supervising AHP,
  • Assisting patient preparation for therapy and at the conclusion of therapy

About you:

  • Must be eligible for or be willing to undertake a Certificate 3 in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent,
  • Must be able to work in a fixed rotational role across SALHN sites (Repatriation Health Precinct and Noarlunga Health Service)
  • Ability to work under close supervision and direction from Allied Health Professional,
  • Proven experience in delivering high quality and safe care consistent with the National Safety and Quality Health Care Service Standards (Mandatory for all clinical positions.)
