About the role 

  • Responsible for the supervision of the Immunohistochemistry, FISH, IF laboratory of Anatomical Pathology, RAH.
  • Contribute to the provision of an efficient and effective Immunohistochemistry service by performing examination and interpretation of samples and exercising supervisory and scientific responsibility.
  • Play an active role in quality assurance, teaching and educational activities within the laboratory along with an on-going commitment to continuing education.
  • Demonstrate increased professional expertise, competence and experience to perform standard professional tasks within the discipline.
  • Provide professional services to client groups in circumstances requiring increasingly complex practice skills.
  • Apply scientific specialist knowledge towards the performance, analysis and trouble-shooting of standard diagnostic procedures.
  • Apply professional judgement to select and apply new and existing methods and techniques.
  • Demonstrate expertise obtained through appropriate professional development and operational experience.

About You

You will be an experienced and technically proficient professional with advanced skills in immunohistochemistry and related diagnostic techniques. Your leadership, analytical ability and commitment to quality will support high-level service delivery in a complex laboratory environment.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated expertise in Immunohistochemistry, FISH and IF, including sample interpretation and troubleshooting of diagnostic procedures.

  • Strong supervisory and scientific leadership skills, with a focus on quality assurance, education and continuous improvement.

  • Proven ability to apply advanced scientific judgement in both routine and complex diagnostic testing environments.

  • Commitment to professional development, maintaining high levels of competence through ongoing training and operational experience.
