As an Senior Rehabilitation Worker, you'll play an essential role in supporting individuals on their journey towards recovery and independence within our Mental Health Rehabilitation Unit. Working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, you'll develop and implement personalized rehabilitation plans, facilitate group activities, and empower clients to develop essential life skills. About the role: 

Reporting to the Allied Health Director & Manager, this role is responsible for the provision of high quality, evidence based psychosocial rehabilitation services for consumers receiving mental health rehabilitation within SALHN. The Senior Rehabilitation Worker contributes expertise to the planning, delivery, and evaluation of psychosocial rehabilitation programs within SALHN mental health rehabilitation services. Duties for the role will include:

  • Actively supporting OPS2 and OPS3 Rehabilitation Workers and student Rehabilitation Workers to provide high quality rehabilitation support in accordance with consumer goals and care plans 
  • Support the adoption and maintenance of a recovery-oriented, strengths-based model, providing support and training to OPS2 and OPS3 Rehabilitation Workers where indicated
  • With the multi-disciplinary team, planning and coordinating the implementation of specific evidence-based programs for consumers that are based on needs and have a recovery-oriented rehabilitation focus.

About you:

  • Certificate IV in Mental Health Work – or currently enrolled in the Cert IV and due to complete within 12 months,
  • Demonstrated ability to carry out psychosocial focused tasks with consumers, either individually or in group settings in partnership with the multi-disciplinary team and broader stakeholders,
  • Experience working with people living with a disability and/or severe and complex mental health issues,
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team environment and successful participation in such a setting,
  • Experience providing support and/or supervision to less experienced or junior staff.
