Procurement Excellence at SA Health - Principal Consultant Role

As a Principal Procurement Consultant at SALHN, you'll play a crucial role in driving strategic procurement initiatives that ensure the efficient and cost-effective delivery of vital healthcare services. Leveraging your expertise in contract management, negotiation, and policy compliance, you'll navigate complex procurement processes to secure favourable outcomes for our healthcare facilities. 

About the role: 

Reporting to the Contracts Manager, this role is responsible for formation, implementation, managing and delivering results on major projects (and sub-projects) relating to business improvement, operational reform and change management. Duties for the role will include:

  • Ensure the effective management of human, financial and physical assets through appropriate planning and allocation of resources to achieve agreed Division / Unit / Ward / Service and strategic plans,
  • Leading projects which identify opportunities for the establishment of contracts and/or participate as a senior member of one or more project teams,
  • Determining objectives, planning and prioritising workloads. communicating priorities and providing direction to staff,
  • Provide advice on procurement process, ensure compliance with the South Australian Framework and Treasurer's Instructions and PARS reporting requirements. 

About you:

  • Ability to think strategically and innovate to resolve complex problems,
  • Experience in the implementation of business improvement initiatives,
  • Experience in researching, analysing and resolving complex problems and providing clear, concise and comprehensive reports and advice,
  • Experience in establishing and managing strong working relationships and communication processes with clients, stakeholders, contractors and project resources
