Overview

You will provide a broad range of occupational therapy services within the Southern Fleurieu Health Service across acute, outpatient and community settings. As a member of a multidisciplinary team including health professionals and service providers from other sectors, you will utilise a combination of preventative, early intervention, treatment/therapy and evaluation approaches. This will include applying Primary Health Care and community participation principles to ensure services are responsive to changing community needs and improve health outcomes. You will provide individual, group and population health services that target at-risk and priority clients within the community, in accordance with service eligibility, prioritisation criteria and episodic care. Working under reduced clinical direction, you may have the opportunity to contribute to the clinical supervision of less experienced allied health professionals, allied health assistants and students.

Holding an appropriate degree or equivalent qualification in Occupational Therapy, you will be eligible for registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia. You will have experience in providing a broad range of clinical and consultative services across a range of service settings, including one-on-one, group based and health promotion activities. Capable of managing and prioritising your personal work load, you will be willing to support others in developing workload management plans and allocating team resources. Demonstrating strong interpersonal and communication skills, you will bring the ability to engage with Aboriginal communities and consumers in a culturally appropriate manner and be willing to undertake further training in this manner.
