About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Radiation Oncology Clinical Operations Manager to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight across the Royal Adelaide Hospital, The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, and Lyell McEwin Hospital. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate with the Director of Radiation Oncology and the Chief Medical Physicist to drive excellence in radiation oncology services, ensuring they remain responsive, efficient, and aligned with the highest standards of quality and safety. Your leadership will shape service delivery through effective resource management, policy direction, and a commitment to continuous improvement, all while ensuring compliance with state and national regulations, accreditation requirements, and hospital policies.

Beyond operational leadership, this role plays a vital part in teaching, research, and professional development within radiation oncology services. You will champion best-practice education and training programs for Radiation Therapists, fostering an environment of innovation and professional growth. As a qualified Radiation Therapist, you will also contribute to clinical services through a workload or portfolio responsibilities as determined by the Director of Radiation Oncology. About You

We are looking for a dedicated and highly skilled Radiation Oncology Clinical Operations Manager who is passionate about excellence in patient care, leadership, and innovation. You will bring a strong clinical background, proven management experience, and a commitment to driving continuous improvement within a multidisciplinary team.

  • Qualifications & Expertise – You hold a degree in Radiation Therapy with accreditation from the Australian Institute of Radiography (pre-2012) or are registered with the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia (post-2012). You are also licensed under the Radiation Protection and Control Act SA (1982).

  • Leadership & Strategic Thinking – You have extensive experience in managing radiation therapy services within a major hospital, with a strong ability to lead, motivate, and inspire a multidisciplinary team. Your strategic and financial acumen enables you to achieve business objectives while fostering innovation and service excellence.

  • Communication & Relationship Management – You are a skilled communicator and negotiator, capable of liaising with internal and external stakeholders, advocating for service improvements, and building strong partnerships with healthcare providers and community organisations.

  • Operational & Business Excellence – With a deep understanding of clinical governance, risk management, and quality improvement, you are experienced in business process enhancement, change management, and delivering measurable outcomes. Your ability to analyse complex issues and develop pragmatic solutions ensures the effective and efficient delivery of radiation oncology services.
