Overview

Within a friendly and welcoming workplace based in Southern Fleurieu Health Services , this is a fantastic opportunity to step into a Services assistant/Housekeeping role where you will have the benefits of flexibility in hours of work and job satisfaction. Primarily, you will be responsible for providing a timely, efficient and effective catering, cleaning and laundry service within the health unit. This will include the general and special cleaning components of wards, resident and patient care areas, doctors’ accommodation and other departments within the Health Unit including external services. You will actively participate in ongoing job rotation through multi-skilling arrangements such as catering assistant duties, delivery, collection and disposal of linen and refuse as appropriate.

Previous experience in providing a catering service or in cleaning in a commercial or health environment will contribute to your success in this role.  Independent and able to operate autonomously with minimal supervision, you will have the ability to use initiative and judgment in day to day execution of the position and ensure the timely completion of tasks as directed. You will be a cooperative and effective team member, with a flexible approach to work and rostering systems. Furthermore, you will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to communicate with all staff, patients, visitors and clients while exercising courtesy and tact.

This is a part-time, ongoing position with a schedule of 4 days a week, either Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday.
