Advance Urological Care: Registrar Role | SA Health

About the role: 

Reporting to the Head of Unit, this role is responsible for providing comprehensive urological care, evaluating and treating patients with a wide range of urological conditions, and performing diagnostic procedures and surgical interventions as required. In this critical role, you will collaborate closely with the broader healthcare team, ensuring seamless coordination and continuity of care for patients throughout their treatment journey.

Duties for the role will include:

  • Participating in the development of clinical guidelines and protocols,
  • Maintaining work-life balance while adhering to the rostering expectations,
  • During the year the Registrars will need to cover clinical duties of other Registrars who take leave,
  • Providing appropriate direction and supervision to Resident Medical Officers, and Interns,
  • Acting as a role model and mentor for Medical Students, Resident Medical Officers, and Interns,

About you:

  • Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor or Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with General Registration,
  • Minimum of 3 years satisfactory experience as an Intern/Resident Medical Officer in a recognised teaching hospital or equivalent,
  • Broad clinical experience and competence in the practice of surgery,
  • Experience in clinical education and accreditation activities,
