About the Role

As a Registrar/Fellow in Neurosurgery, you will play an integral role in providing high-quality inpatient and outpatient clinical care under the guidance of the Director of Neurosurgery and senior consultant staff. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of patients, contributing to clinical decision-making and patient outcomes within a supportive and collaborative team environment. Your role will also involve participation in the after-hours roster, offering a valuable opportunity to gain exposure to a broad range of neurosurgical presentations.

In addition to clinical duties, you will support the education and development of junior medical staff, ensuring high standards of practice among Resident Medical Officers and Interns. You will contribute to clinical governance activities, including quality assurance programs and the preparation of clinical review reports. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop advanced neurosurgical skills while contributing to research, teaching, and continuous service improvement in a leading healthcare setting.

You are a dedicated and collaborative medical professional with strong clinical skills in neurosurgery and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care. Your leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills enable you to manage clinical responsibilities effectively while supporting junior medical staff and contributing to a positive team environment.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • MBBS or equivalent, registrable with AHPRA, with relevant clinical skills suited to neurosurgical duties.

  • Strong leadership, negotiation, problem-solving, and staff supervision skills, with the ability to manage clinical services effectively.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on fostering respectful relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.

  • Sound knowledge of hospital systems, policies, procedures, and workplace safety, including Equal Opportunity and Occupational Health and Safety principles.
