About the Role

As the Acute Surgical Unit, Trauma & Surgical Oncology Fellow, you will play a pivotal role in delivering advanced surgical care across acute general surgery, trauma, and surgical oncology within the Central Adelaide Local Health Network. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will provide hands-on clinical leadership, contribute to high-quality surgical decision-making, and support the management of complex patient cases. This role also promotes active involvement in the supervision of junior staff and surgical trainees, ensuring excellence in education and patient care.

About You

You are a qualified and experienced medical practitioner with strong leadership, clinical, and communication skills. You are committed to delivering high-quality patient care while fostering positive working relationships and contributing to the effective operation of a large hospital setting.

  • Hold an MBBS or equivalent degree registrable with the Medical Board of South Australia.

  • Demonstrated ability to supervise staff, resolve complaints, and coordinate medical services within a hospital environment.

  • Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively, promote patient-centred care, and lead with empathy and respect.

  • Sound knowledge of hospital systems, policies, and departmental functions, including OHS and Equal Opportunity principles.
