About the Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Media and Communications team as a Senior Communications Advisor (Community), where you will be responsible for:

  • Delivers expert strategic communications leadership, consultancy, guidance, plans, and activities for WCHN.
  • Works extensively with WCHN's community services, particularly the Child and Family Health Service to develop targeted communications plans, campaigns, and publications aligned with WCHN’s strategic goals.
  • Promotes, influences, and advises on initiatives and solutions to achieve high-quality outcomes and minimise risks.
  • Provides expert input into developing and promoting high-quality communication strategies, plans, and future directions for WCHN.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience working in communications and/or the media industry as a journalist, public relations, public affairs or a related field, including experience in developing and implementing innovative and effective public relations and promotional strategies.
  • Proven experience in researching, analysing and coordinating complex information and data, and preparing concise, relevant and timely briefings, written advice and reports.
  • Proven high-level written and oral communication skills, including the ability to produce influential and user-friendly written materials that are clear and accurate, to ensure the effective delivery of the organisation’s messages.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and effectively within a team environment and independently under limited direction to plan, organise and prioritise workload to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to liaise, consult and engage in a culturally sensitive manner with staff, communities, individuals and agencies
