About the role: 

Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) and working under the supervision and delegation of the AHP team, some of your duties for the role will include:

  • Supporting AHP’s with facilitation of the Therapeutic Activity Program
  • Supporting AHP’s with administrative tasks which enhance the AHP program
  • Safely delivering patient care as per AHP delegations, instructions and defined scope of practice
  • Providing feedback and outcomes of tasks to delegating (or supervising) AHP’s
  • Assisting in the maintenance of clinical and patient equipment and associated records
  • Accurately maintaining therapy related databases and patient documentation under the explicit direction of the supervising AHP
  • Providing escort and support for patient attendance at therapy interventions
  • Actively participating in own development, including education, training and supervision

About you:

  • Have a collaborative approach and the ability to work well with a multi-disciplinary team
  • Sound communication and interpersonal skills – able to demonstrate the ability to work with people from a variety of cultural and linguistically diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment to assist patient therapy and / or handling of patient related equipment and devices
  • Experience working in a health-care setting
  • Proven experience in basic computing skills, including email and word processing
