About the Role:

As a Consultant Anaesthetist, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care within the Anaesthetics Department, while leading and inspiring a multidisciplinary team. You’ll contribute your clinical expertise to complex cases, support safe and effective care delivery, and help shape the future of anaesthesia through teaching, mentoring, and collaborative practice. This role also offers opportunities to drive innovation through involvement in clinical audits, quality improvement, research, and ongoing professional development.

About You:

  • Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent.
  • Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration, or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award.
  • Experience with the supervision and teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate medical staff.
  • Extensive clinical experience relevant to work in anaesthetics.
  • Experience in quality improvement activities.
  • Proven experience in delivering high quality and safe care consistent with the National Safety and Quality Health Care Service Standards. (Mandatory for all clinical positions.)
  • Proven experience in basic computing skills, including email and word processing.

  • Total Indicative Remuneration (TIRP) includes award salary, managerial allowance, remote call allowance, professional development, A&R Allowance, Super, Private Practice Arrangements (if applicable).
  • This is a multiple positions part time vacancy, hours to be negotiated and salary will be adjusted according to actual hours worked. Applicants are encouraged to discuss the flexible working arrangements for this role.
  • Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check and Immunisation compliance as indicated on the Role description.
