Join Our Team as an Associate Nurse Unit Manager – Step Into Leadership and Support High-Quality Care

Are you ready to take the next step in your nursing career and support the delivery of safe, consistent, and compassionate care? As an Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM), you’ll contribute both clinically and operationally, helping to lead a dedicated team while developing your leadership skills in a supportive and dynamic environment.

About the Role:

As an Associate Nurse Unit Manager, you will provide nursing and/or midwifery care across a range of health service settings, building on your experience and clinical knowledge to deliver high-quality, person-centred care. You will accept accountability for your own standards of practice, provide guidance to less experienced staff, and actively contribute to their development as they grow in clinical capability.

In partnership with the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager, you will take on a leadership role within the ward, unit, or service—supporting both patient care and day-to-day operational management. This includes contributing to staffing, rostering, recruitment, attendance and leave management, and assisting with financial and resource planning. You will also support the implementation of practice changes and hold responsibility for a designated portfolio area, promoting continuity and consistency of care across the team.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
  • Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years post registration experience or currently classified as a Clinical Nurse/Midwife.
  • Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice.
  • Experience in the supervision of student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses.
