Repat Health Precinct Transition Services is looking for an experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join their unit in an ongoing role! 

As the Senior Occupational Therapist you will liaise with other health professionals, service providers and the community, providing leadership and support to the unit. You will be responsible for specialist occupational therapy assessment and intervention, assistive technology prescription and case management.

About the role: 

As the Senior Occupational Therapist you will be required to provide specialist consultation and advice, link clients with relevant community services and resources and be involved in training and supervising. Duties for the role will include:

  • Provide leadership to the Occupational Therapy team across the inpatient wards of Transition Services (Bangka Strait and Vita Stars)
  • Provide advice and consultancy to other staff within the Occupational Therapy department, other health professionals and external clinicians or agencies on NDIS and aged care providers
  • Apply professional expertise and advice on the assessment and management of complex discharge planning and complex cases, primarily in aged and restorative care, and NDIS (adult).
  • Prescribe and arrange for the provision of appropriate assistive technology (AT) and home modifications, including complex home modifications, contribute to effective and efficient discharge planning in conjucntion with external services including NDIS providers
  • Implement and review the objectives of the unit and ensure the Occupational Therapy team is aligned with these objectives and strategic plans
  • Document assessment findings and interventions

About you:

  • Clinical experience at a senior level, in an acute/rehabilitation health care organisation
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate and lead change that results in improved outcomes
  • Experience in supervisory or leadership role
  • Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia
  • Proven experience in delivering high quality and safe care consistent with the National Safety and Quality Health Care Service Standards
