About the role

As a Medical Laboratory Scientist, you will play an essential role in delivering high-quality diagnostic services that support patient care and clinical decision-making. You will apply your scientific and technical expertise to perform a variety of routine diagnostic tests, ensuring accuracy, reliability and efficiency in every procedure. Working collaboratively within a laboratory team, you will be involved in all aspects of the diagnostic process — from problem definition and planning through to execution, analysis and reporting.

In this role, you will also have the opportunity to contribute to the evolution of laboratory practices by supporting the development, evaluation and implementation of new techniques and methodologies under supervision. This is an ideal opportunity to build your technical capabilities in a dynamic and supportive environment while playing an important part in advancing patient outcomes.

About You

You are a motivated and detail-oriented laboratory professional with strong scientific and technical skills. Your ability to follow procedures, manage workloads effectively and work collaboratively enables you to deliver high-quality diagnostic services. You are proactive, punctual, and committed to maintaining high standards in a laboratory setting.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • A Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Laboratory Science) or equivalent qualification.

  • Proven ability to perform routine diagnostic testing, manage tasks efficiently, and maintain laboratory equipment according to procedures.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively in a team and provide excellent customer service.

  • Sound knowledge of laboratory practices, quality procedures, and experience using laboratory equipment, computing systems, and data processing tools.
