About the Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the CAMHS – Northern Metro team as a Clinical Psychologist, where you will be responsible for:

  • Delivering evidence-based care through assessment, education, counselling and group work, ensuring optimum outcomes for children, adolescents and their families.
  • Managing a direct clinical caseload and implementing a range of individual, family and group therapies as a single practitioner or as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Providing leadership and support by offering direction, orientation and education to colleagues, and acting as a consultant and resource to CAMHS, other agencies and the community.
  • Driving service improvement by contributing to action research projects, quality improvement initiatives and policy development within the practice setting.
  • Promoting equity of access, particularly for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, young people and their families, ensuring culturally safe and inclusive services.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Appropriate degree or equivalent qualification in Master of Clinical Psychology or Health Psychology recognised by the PsyBA and general registration with the PsyBA, or Provisional Registration with the PsyBA. 
  • Clinical experience in the treatment and management of complex child and adolescent mental health issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement clinical assessments and interventions of a complex nature in relation to children and adolescents experiencing mental health issues, and their families using a range of theoretical models.
  • Communicate and work with other professionals, facilitate group functions and work as a team member.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the theory and practice of clinical work within psychology, including group or family work.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the development of personal and professional skills.
