Overview

Are you a skilled Clinical Coder looking to join a supportive team in a regional health setting? Mount Gambier & Districts Health Service invites applications from experienced Clinical Coders to provide high-quality, accurate inpatient coding for our facility and regional partners.

About the Role

As a Clinical Coder, you will:

  • Code inpatient and day patient episodes of care using ICD-10-AM in accordance with national and state standards.
  • Abstract, classify, and enter data accurately using 3M CodeFinder and related systems.
  • Participate in regular data quality audits and respond to PICQ audit outcomes.
  • Support clinical coding across the South East region (travel may be required).
  • Provide advice and training as needed to support documentation and coding quality.

Must-Have Requirements

To be eligible for this role, applicants must already hold:

  • Successful completion of the Health Information Management Association of Australia – ICD-10-AM Coding Course
  • A minimum of 3 years’ clinical coding experience

Desirable Attributes

  • Understanding of casemix and Diagnosis-Related Groups (DRGs)
  • Prior experience with SA Health systems including Sunrise EMR
  • Knowledge of the South Australian public health system
