About the role

As the Regional Lead Pharmacist, you will play a pivotal role in managing the designated Pharmacy Service and associated sites, ensuring alignment with SA Pharmacy’s strategic priorities and your Regional Local Health Network’s goals. You will lead a high-performing team, providing orientation, training, education, and supervision to professional and support staff, while delivering patient-focused, high-quality, and cost-effective pharmacy services. This role requires strong leadership and clinical expertise to optimise patient outcomes and ensure compliance with legislative and practice standards.

In this senior position, you will contribute to statewide and national forums, influence drug policy, and oversee the supply of goods across multiple sites. You will also support teaching and training programs, fostering professional development for graduates, students, and staff. Applying your extensive knowledge and experience, you will manage departmental resources, implement improved techniques, and provide expert advice across the Local Health Network and aged care facilities.

We are seeking a professional who can demonstrate:

  • Leadership and Management Expertise – Proven ability to lead, supervise, and mentor pharmacy teams, with extensive experience in hospital pharmacy practice and change management.

  • Advanced Clinical and Technical Competence – Professionally and technically proficient, with comprehensive knowledge of pharmacy practice, codes of practice, and standards.

  • Strong Interpersonal and Communication Skills – Exceptional ability to build trust and collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams and with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Strategic and Analytical Thinking – Skilled in research, data analysis, financial management, and developing innovative strategies to enhance service delivery.
