Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated Rehabilitation Allied Health Assistant to provide assistance and support to the Allied Health team in the delivery of services to patients/clients of the Yorke and Northern Local Health Network (YNLHN).

In this role, you will be working under the supervision of the Community and Allied Health, Healthy Living Team Leader and support the YNLHN Rehabilitation Service to focus on consumer reablement and care.

As the Rehabilitation Allied Health Assistant, you will provide support to patients and community clients participating in their Rehabilitation. Duties will be directed by the AHP clinician and the rehabilitation team. This role requires flexibility, adaptability, and initiative as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Eligibility

Applicants must have a certificate 4 in Allied Health Assistance, or equivalent and experience working in a service environment.

You will be required to demonstrate:

  • Clear aptitude for working in a healthcare setting and with people from a variety of cultural and linguistically diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to work under general direction and direct or remote supervision from Allied Health Professionals
  • Ability to adapt to changing needs of the workplace on a daily basis
  • High level communication and interpersonal skills –demonstrate ability to work with people from a variety of cultural and linguistically diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to problem solve through use of policies, guidelines and procedures relevant to the role
  • Sound time management, organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment to assist patient therapy and / or handling of patient related equipment and devices
