About the role

As the Deputy Director of Pharmacy Services, you will oversee the daily management of the designated Pharmacy Service in alignment with SA Pharmacy’s strategic priorities. You will play a central role in ensuring high-quality, cost-effective, and patient-focused pharmaceutical services for all patients. Your responsibilities will include the coordination, orientation, training, education, and supervision of staff to foster a supportive and high-performing team environment.

In this leadership position, you will provide a comprehensive and complex range of professional pharmacy services, optimising outcomes for patients and maintaining the highest standards of practice in accordance with local, state, and national policies and legislation. You will contribute to the ongoing development of pharmacy services through policy development, teaching, training, and active participation in committees and workgroups. Your expertise and professional judgement will help drive continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence across the Pharmacy Service and broader health network.

About You

You will be an experienced and registered pharmacist with proven leadership skills, ready to drive high standards in pharmacy practice within a dynamic healthcare environment.

  • Qualifications & Registration
    Bachelor of Pharmacy (or equivalent) and current registration or eligibility for registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia.

  • Leadership & Management
    Demonstrated management and leadership experience, with the ability to supervise, educate, and motivate multidisciplinary teams while driving service improvements.

  • Communication & Analytical Skills
    Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong interpersonal abilities, and a proven capacity for problem-solving, innovation, research, and data analysis.

  • Professional Experience & Knowledge
    Extensive hospital pharmacy experience, competence in drug dispensing and patient counselling, and comprehensive knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and pharmacy best practice.
