Overview

An exciting opportunity is available for a committed and skilled Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist to join the Port Pirie Regional Health Service – a dynamic and expanding regional hospital delivering a broad scope of services to a diverse population.

You will provide expert clinical care in both obstetrics and gynaecology, contribute to theatre and outpatient services, participate in the on-call roster, and support junior clinicians and medical trainees. Located just 2.5 hours from Adelaide, Port Pirie Regional Health Service is a key referral site in regional SA, offering inpatient and outpatient obstetric and gynaecological care. Join our committed team and make a meaningful impact in a diverse and welcoming community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise Labour ward activity with clinical confidence and compassion
  • Manage gynaecological emergencies and inpatient/outpatient cases
  • Participate in after-hours on-call rotations
  • Support and mentor junior doctors and midwives
  • Contribute to quality improvement, audit, and research initiatives
  • Promote inclusive care, particularly for Aboriginal women and survivors of sexual abuse

About You

  • BMBS or equivalent and specialist registration with AHPRA (or eligibility)
  • Demonstrated expertise in women’s health, with a trauma-informed, culturally sensitive approach
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills
  • Adaptable, team-oriented, and committed to ongoing professional development
