  • Base Salary Range: $103,353 - $110,497 p.a (pro rata)
  • In addition to base salary, this position attracts Superannuation, Leave Loading, Zone Allowance and once off Incidental Payment (conditions apply), Professional Development Allowance, and Salary Sacrificing Benefits (salary packaging).

The Port Augusta Hospital and Regional Health Service is a large regional hospital that provides a wide range of services including emergency, general and surgical, maternity, outpatient, and outreach services. The hospital has 58 beds including flex and monitored beds. The Port Augusta Hospital also has chemotherapy services and has a Renal Dialysis Unit and a Paediatric Department, both of which are the largest outside of Adelaide. Our staff work in close partnership with community health services and Aboriginal health providers, to ensure that optimum care is delivered to all areas of the community. About the Role:

Step into a dynamic leadership role as an Associate Nurse Unit Manager, delivering high-quality nursing and/or midwifery services across a variety of health service settings. Building on your experience and/or further study, you’ll grow from a competent to a proficient practitioner, while taking accountability for your own practice, delegating appropriately, and guiding the development of less experienced staff.

You’ll work closely with the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager to lead your team, promote continuity and consistency of care, and support the implementation of practice changes. In addition, you’ll manage a designated portfolio that may include key ward or unit responsibilities such as performance management, recruitment, rostering, staffing, leave coordination, and resource planning. This is your opportunity to develop professionally while playing a vital role in shaping care delivery and team culture.

About You:

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
  • Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years post registration experience or currently classified as a Clinical Nurse/Midwife.
  • Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice.
  • Experience in the supervision of student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses.

  • This is a part time vacancy, working 40 hours per fortnight and salary will be adjusted according to actual hours worked.
