About the Role

We are seeking a professional and organised Unit Secretary to join our General Medicine team within the Acute and Urgent Care Program. In this important role, you will be responsible for delivering confidential secretarial and administrative support to ensure the smooth day-to-day functioning of the department. You will coordinate workloads, prioritise tasks, and contribute to a collaborative team environment where accuracy, efficiency, and discretion are essential.

As a key point of contact within the unit, you will liaise with internal departments and staff to support operational needs, handle more complex administrative tasks, and provide guidance to junior team members. Your ability to manage competing priorities and maintain a high standard of service will be critical to the department’s overall success in delivering timely and effective patient care. About you

You are a highly organised and adaptable individual with strong administrative skills and a passion for supporting healthcare teams. With proven experience in medical administration, you bring a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and a commitment to confidentiality and quality service.

  • Completed relevant development courses such as Medical Terminology and computer skills training

  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, and work under pressure

  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills across diverse backgrounds

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, and general administrative procedures in confidential settings
