About the Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the HaRTSS team as a Nurse Consultant / Nurse Unit Manager, where you will be responsible for:

  • Providing expert, holistic clinical nursing care to consumers affected by Domestic and Family Violence, integrating contemporary evidence and nursing experience in a multidisciplinary setting.
  • Leading and supporting nursing staff through education, training, and clinical leadership to promote integrated, safe, and high-quality DFV healthcare.
  • Using information systems and performance data to guide quality improvement, risk management, and adherence to corporate policies and nursing standards related to DFV care.
  • Maintaining effective working relationships, manage conflicts, and responsibly oversee resources to ensure sustainable and efficient service delivery.
  • As a Nurse Consultant: you will be applying specialist clinical expertise with significant independent decision-making and leads development of clinical protocols and DFV nursing practice standards.
  • As Nurse Unit Manager: you will be providing clinical leadership to nursing teams, coordinates DFV programs, and holds accountability for nursing practice, policy compliance, and inclusive consumer care.

 

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, holding or eligible for a current practicing certificate.
  • Demonstrated effective leadership skills, including advanced communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation abilities.
  • Proven experience in developing, embedding, and supporting Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) health assessment processes and documentation, with an emphasis on person- and family-centred, culturally diverse care.
  • At least 3 years post-registration nursing experience, with competence in community nursing and experience in areas such as Sexual Health, Aboriginal Health, Mental Health, Drugs and Alcohol, or Community Health.
  • Ability to work flexibly and innovatively within a complex, changing environment, collaborating with leadership to foster positive culture and lead change management initiatives.
