About the role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Pharmacist in General Medicine to provide high-level clinical care to patients, mentorship to a team of pharmacists and ensuring the effective delivery of high-quality pharmacy services. In this role, you will exercise independent and autonomous judgement, providing expert medicines information and therapeutic advice to patients, as well as medical, nursing, and allied health professionals. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining compliance with hospital policies, professional standards, and guidelines while driving excellence in pharmacy practice.

With a strong focus on optimising patient outcomes, you will implement evidence-based strategies to promote the safe, effective, and cost-conscious use of pharmaceuticals. Your leadership will support innovation and continuous improvement in service delivery, enhancing both patient care and hospital operations. About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Senior Pharmacist in General Medicine, with strong leadership abilities, who is a proficient clinician and with a keen interest in supporting and delivering high-quality pharmacy services in a hospital setting. 

To excel as a Senior Pharmacist, you will bring the following essential skills, experience, and knowledge:

  • Qualified and Registered: Bachelor of Pharmacy (or equivalent) and registered or eligible for registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia.

  • Strong Communication and Leadership: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, public relations abilities, and proven leadership in supervising, educating, and directing staff.

  • Organisational Excellence: Outstanding organisation, attention to detail, and capacity to meet deadlines in a complex environment, with demonstrated skills in research, analysis, and problem solving.

  • Extensive Pharmacy Practice: Significant hospital pharmacy experience, including leadership or management, and comprehensive knowledge of pharmacy standards, codes of practice, and multidisciplinary teamwork.
